About Barry
First the earth cooled, then the dinosaurs came........ then I hit my first drum. It has been a love affair ever since. I started at the ripe old age of 7 with a CB700 snare drum and a pair of sticks. It was a deal with my parents that I had to learn and perfect my rudiments before I could move on to the monster rock kit. 2 years and many lessons later a great thing happened on August 7th my birthday. I received my first drumkit. Immediately I set it up and began trying to wail along with Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast. From there I haven't looked back. I took tons of lessons and really learned to respect all styles of music and tried to apply them to my playing. I was a marching geek through elementary, middle, high school, and college at UCF. I am one hell of a lucky musician and have played in many bands until eventually landing the Shinedown gig in 2000-01. I learn something everyday and drumming is my passion. BKMusical influences
